The 8th Congress of Tien Giang Provincial Literature and Arts Association, term 2024 – 2029 opened this morning (April 24) at the Provincial Convention Center. The congress gathered 120 delegates representing more than 400 members in 6 majors, including: Literature, Music, Theater, Fine Arts, Photography and Dance.

This is an important political and professional activity of intellectuals and artists of Tien Giang province, actively contributing to continuing to well implement Resolution 23 of the Xth Politburo on building and developing literature and arts. art in the new era; Resolution 33 of the 11th Central Executive Committee on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the country and the Party’s resolutions and directives on culture and arts.

Talking to the reporter (PV) of Ap Bac Newspaper about the results of the past term and the tasks set for the next term, Poet Truong Trong Nghia, Vice Chairman of the Literature and Arts Association of Tien Giang province said:

Despite many difficulties in the past term, especially affected by the epidemic situation, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association has constantly strived and innovated content and operating methods to perform its tasks well. assigned by the Party and State.

The Association proposed and led the successful implementation of many literary and artistic activities not only at the provincial level but also at the regional level, helping writers and artists have the conditions to develop their talents and have the opportunity to exchange and learn with others. colleagues inside and outside the province. At the same time, these activities have contributed to enriching the cultural and artistic life in the province.

The Provincial Literature and Arts Association has gathered a large number of writers and artists, maintained good professional activities, professional training classes, opened many creative camps, and organized many field trips for students to participate in. members improve the quality of their works. The team of writers and artists in Tien Giang province is growing stronger in number, with improved professional qualifications and political bravery, meeting the requirements of the new situation.

From the Government’s funding source, the Association has considered and supported literary and artistic creative activities for the right subjects, promptly motivating and encouraging writers and artists to work hard and create literary and artistic works. , creating many new valuable works. * Poet Truong Trong Nghia: From the effective implementation of the Project on Literature and Arts Development in Tien Giang province for the period 2014 – 2024, literary and artistic activities have made strong changes. The literary and artistic life in Tien Giang is quite rich and vibrant with many professional and movement activities.

The Association advised the Provincial People’s Committee to consider and award the 3rd Thu Khoa Huan Literature and Arts Award to 13 authors who have made many contributions to creativity and efforts to build the province’s literary and artistic movement.

During the past term, Tien Giang writers and artists won over 80 literary and artistic awards at the central and regional levels. In addition, there are more than 400 works that won awards at provincial-level competitions and competitions organized by industries and levels.

In joint activities, Tien Giang successfully hosted 2 Vong Co Song Composition Contests (2017 and 2019) and the Mekong Delta Regional Song Composition Contest (2022). Coordinated with the Vietnam Fine Arts Association to successfully host the Workshop “Young Fine Arts and Southern Contemporary Art” in City. My Tho, Tien Giang province.

Selected and published two very valuable booklets: “Tien Giang Poetry, the first 20 years of the 21st century” and “Tien Giang short stories, the first 20 years of the 21st century”, gathering almost all the faces literature of Tien Giang province for nearly 2 decades.

The next mark of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association is the launch of the Vietnamese Writers Association of Tien Giang province, this is the second branch in the Mekong Delta region to be established, contributing to creating an atmosphere vibrant in the province’s literary activities.

* Poet Truong Trong Nghia: In the new term, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association sets a goal of striving to admit at least 60 new members, introducing 15 members to the Central Specialized Associations.

The Association continues to innovate and improve the quality and efficiency of activities; Strengthen the introduction and promotion of members’ works. Continue to develop the Project on Literature and Art Development of Tien Giang province for the period 2025 – 2035 and the following years and submit it to the Provincial People’s Committee for approval.

Regularly consolidate, consolidate, and innovate organizational operating methods. The Association is capable of well performing the functions and tasks of gathering, uniting, and supporting writers and artists in creative literary and artistic activities in the new era. .

In the immediate future, after the 8th Congress of Tien Giang Provincial Literature and Arts Association, term 2024 – 2029, we will immediately begin implementing activities summarizing the next 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art. The day of national unification according to Plan 390 dated November 15, 2023 of the Central Propaganda Department and Plan 123 dated January 9, 2024 of the Standing Committee of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee.
