At the opening session of the Conference, Minister of Public Security To Lam emphasized that the strong development of information technology on a global scale is giving rise to crimes using high technology, causing serious consequences.

To fight this type of crime, it is necessary to promote multilateral cooperation within frameworks such as Interpol, Europol, and Aseanpol. Minister To Lam affirmed that Vietnam wishes to continue to share experiences and initiatives with international partners and friends in preventing and fighting crime and protecting national sovereignty in cyberspace.

At the Conference, the 4th multilateral meeting – consultation session of security leaders of ASEAN member countries and Russia took place.

Previously, Minister To Lam met with Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Nikolai Patrushev to discuss measures to promote cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

On this occasion, Minister To Lam had a working session with the Saint Petersburg City Government and laid flowers at the Monument of President Ho Chi Minh in this city.
