BBK – On the morning of April 24, the Forest and Farm Program Management Board (FFF), Bac Kan Provincial Farmers’ Association organized an interdisciplinary planning workshop to discuss solutions for developing large timber forests and agroforestry. .

Attending the workshop were leaders of the Provincial Farmers’ Association, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Provincial Forest Protection Department; District and commune Farmers’ Association officials and cooperatives and cooperative groups of communes implementing the FFF Program in the province including: Yen Duong, My Phuong, Thuong Giao communes (Ba Be); Phuong Vien commune, Yen Phong (Cho Don); The 02 communes implementing small projects are Tan Son commune (Cho Moi) and Dia Linh commune (Ba Be).

At the Workshop, delegates received expertise from the industry to share about central and provincial policies to support economic development, including forest care and protection and new planting. At the same time, delegates participated in discussions and shared experiences and opinions on the current situation, policy mechanisms, project programs and the ability to coordinate between the FFF Program with relevant parties and businesses. Industry… Propose solutions: Continue to maintain and develop livelihood models and large timber forests that have been supported by investment; Select plant varieties suitable to the soil and climate conditions of each locality; Coordinate loan support for cooperative groups and cooperatives participating in afforestation, maintaining and replicating effective agricultural and forestry models.

Research and develop the cultivation of medicinal plants and non-timber forest products under the canopy of natural forests such as: yellow flower tea, purple velvet, cardamom, stone ginger, ox Khai, Gynostemma lam… Thereby making full use of the land belts, enhancing the value of forests; Specialized sectors are interested in creating favorable conditions for professional support in transferring science and technology in agricultural and forestry production… contributing to creating jobs, increasing income for people, improving the ecological environment and creating conditions to promote local socio-economic development.
