The Provincial Steering Committee of National Target Programs meets on the new rural program

On the morning of April 24, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam – Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee chaired the meeting of the Steering Committee of the Provincial National Target Programs on the new rural program (NTM).

According to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, up to now, the whole province has 65/92 communes recognized as meeting NTM standards, including 19 advanced NTM communes, the average number of NTM criteria meeting standards in the area. The whole province has 15.5 criteria/commune. Currently, the appraisal dossier for Dien Khanh district to meet new rural district standards in 2023 is being reviewed and appraised by the Central Government.

In 2024, there will be 6 communes registered to meet NTM standards, 12 communes registered to meet advanced NTM standards; 2 communes registered to meet model rural standards; Van Ninh district meets NTM district standards; City. Nha Trang completed the task of building new rural areas.

According to reports from localities at the meeting, up to now, all localities have implemented detailed plans according to each target, criteria and specific solutions to complete the 2024 NTM mission goals. Localities Request the province to consider and support grid investment capital for some island villages in Van Thanh commune (Van Ninh); clean water project for Son Binh and Son Hiep communes (Khanh Son); Consider adjusting the proportion of provincial budget capital for school construction investment from 30% to 70%…

After relevant departments and units gave their opinions, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam proposed that in addition to infrastructure criteria, departments, branches and localities consider reviewing to ensure important criteria are met, such as : income, poor households, residential housing, employed workers, rural economy… Localities focus on drastic direction, continuous review, and proactive coordination with departments and branches to overcome difficulties. Difficulties, if any, suggest to the province contents beyond authority; Regularly maintain and ensure compliance with “soft” criteria; Urgently complete procedures and deploy infrastructure investment projects. Relevant departments and branches actively coordinate closely and provide specific support for localities to complete criteria related to their departments and branches, ensuring the achievement of targets and plans of the NTM program. .
