Son La strawberry crop fails, but growers still make high profits
This year’s Moc Chau (Son La) strawberry season was affected by the weather, output decreased sharply, but thanks to increased prices, farmers still made a profit.
The price of strawberries at the beginning of the season is about 60,000-80,000 VND per kg, but in the middle and end of the season it increases to 130,000-150,000 VND per kg, 10-15% higher than Da Lat products and twice as expensive as Chinese products.
If in previous years, this strawberry was only sold in the Northern region, now it is consumed in most Southern and Western provinces. In addition, products are also sold online on social networks and online marketplaces.
Vietnam is the largest rice exporter to Singapore for the first time
According to news from the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, in the first quarter of 2024, for the first time, Vietnam became the largest rice exporter to the Singapore market.
Currently accounting for more than 32% market share, Vietnamese rice export turnover to Singapore is higher than that of India and Thailand.
Specifically, in 3 months, the turnover reached 36.15 million SGD, an increase of nearly 81% over the same period in 2023.
