Ms. Ban Thi Hom, born in 1996, Dao ethnicity, was born and raised in Na Mau village, Phuong Tien commune, Vi Xuyen district. With the acumen and dynamism of youth, Ms. Ban Thi Hom was determined to borrow 100 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to invest and start a business from Shan Tuyet tea.

Currently, Ms. Ban Thi Hom’s tea factory has consumed all the fresh tea bud products of 10 households in the village. At the same time processing products such as: 1 shrimp 1 leaf sweet soup; 1 shrimp with 2 leaves; Peony tea; Lam tube tea; Pu-erh; White tea; Dragon claw; Bach Tien. Every year, minus expenses, Ms. Ban Thi Hom’s family has hundreds of millions of dong in profit from Shan Tuyet tea.

As a young woman, Ms. Ban Thi Hom has proactively approached and applied digital transformation in distribution and sales on e-commerce platforms and social networks and has gained a certain number of customers. Along with production and business development, Ms. Ban Thi Hom is also an exemplary leader in movements and competitions launched by the Women’s Union.

In 2023, Ms. Hom participated in the startup ideas and products contest organized by the Provincial Women’s Union and was honored to win the first prize with the idea “Shan Tuyet Tea – Continuing the Future”. This idea was also honored to reach the semi-finals of Women’s Startups with Indigenous Resources in the Northern region. With her efforts, Ms. Hom has been recognized and rewarded by the Women’s Union at all levels, Party Committees and local authorities.
