The winning team in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Asian futsal tournament will qualify for the World Cup finals, taking place in September this year.

In the past, Uzbekistan won the Asian futsal runner-up position four times, in 2001, 2006, 2010 and 2016. They won third place in the Asian tournament five other times, in 2005, 2007, 2014. , 2018 and 2022. Overall, Uzbekistan is Asia’s leading futsal scene.

How did the Vietnamese futsal team get to the World Cup?

According to the rules of the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship, the four teams that reach the semi-finals of this tournament will have official tickets to Uzbekistan to attend the World Cup finals.

That means that if the Vietnamese futsal team wins against Uzbekistan at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (April 24), at the Bangkok Arena (Thailand), in the quarter-finals, we will have tickets to the World Cup.

Also because the World Cup is held in Uzbekistan, in case this Central Asian team reaches the semi-finals of the ongoing Asian futsal championship, Asia will have an additional ticket to the World Cup.

This qualifying ticket is determined by the play-off round between the losing teams in the quarterfinals. This means that if the Vietnamese futsal team loses to Uzbekitsan in the quarterfinals of the Asian tournament tomorrow, we still have another chance to compete for tickets to the World Cup.

If they lose to Uzbekistan, the Vietnamese futsal team will play with the losing team in the quarterfinal match between Thailand and Iraq. This is the first play-off round.
