On the morning of April 24, at the Hanoi Flagpole, a large number of delegates from all over the country attended the launching ceremony of the “Dien Bien Phu – Riverland Aspiration” Journey.
This is the kick-off activity of a series of peak youth programs towards the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (1954-2024).
The departure ceremony took place solemnly with the participation of leaders of the Central Youth Union, Vietnam Youth Union, Vietnamese Student Association, and Central Youth Union Council.
At the ceremony, First Secretary of the Central Doan Bui Quang Huy emphasized the great significance of the Dien Bien Phu Victory – a brilliant milestone in the nation’s history. This victory is a testament to the spirit of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, the strength of great national unity, and Vietnamese bravery and intelligence.
The journey “Dien Bien Phu – River Desire” will take place from April 24 to April 27. The tour groups will pass through historical sites associated with the Dien Bien Phu victory, visit and give gifts to veterans, families of martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
The purpose of the journey is to educate the young generation about revolutionary traditions, arouse patriotism, a spirit of national pride, and a sense of responsibility to build and protect the Fatherland.
At the departure ceremony, First Secretary of the Central Committee Doan Bui Quang Huy presented the departure command flag to the four traveling groups.
The journey group “Dien Bien Phu – River aspirations” was led by Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Committee for Vietnamese Youth.
The “I love my Fatherland” journey group was led by Mr. Ngo Van Cuong – Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee, Chairman of the Union Central Inspection Committee.
The “Students with great aspirations” journey group was led by Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet – Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Vietnam Student Association.
The delegation of the “Dien Bien Little Soldiers” Festival was led by Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang – Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Team Association.
Before that, the tour groups visited President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and offered incense at the Bac Son Martyrs’ Memorial and General Vo Nguyen Giap’s house.
