In the last four Asian Futsal Championships, Uzbekistan reached the semi-finals three times. Therefore, it is easy to understand why they are rated higher than the Vietnamese futsal team in this confrontation.

The performance of the two teams also had a difference after the group stage. Vietnam’s futsal team has not been able to convince even though it finished second in this group. Coach Diego Giustozzi’s team only scored 3 goals in 3 matches and won the ticket to the next round only thanks to the difference in score compared to Myanmar.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan showed its dominance by winning 3 matches. They also scored 10 goals and only conceded 6 times. With Asia’s leading level, Uzbekistan deserves to be chosen as the host of the 2024 Futsal World Cup.

The 2024 Asian Futsal Championship is also considered the upcoming Futsal World Cup qualifier. The four semi-finalists will win tickets to Uzbekistan.

In case Uzbekistan enters the round of 4 strongest teams, the 4 losing teams in the quarterfinals will play a play-off to compete for the remaining spot.

In theory, if they surpass Uzbekistan, the Vietnamese futsal team will be present at the futsal World Cup for the third time in a row.

However, this possibility is not high. However, coach Giustozzi’s team will certainly not return home early because if they lose to Uzbekistan, they still have a chance to get tickets to the World Cup through the play-off round.
