Tan Trung commune meets new rural standards

Tan Trung commune meets new rural standards according to Decision 464/QD-UBND, dated March 27, 2024 of the People’s Committee of An Giang province. The commune was separated from Tan Hoa commune in December 2003, with economic development strengths in vegetables and aquaculture with effective output links. The commune also has Tan Trung industrial and handicraft cluster, significantly contributing to attracting businesses and creating jobs for rural workers.

Through the national target program to build new rural areas, Tan Trung commune has mobilized capital of over 222 billion VND to build new rural areas. Of which, the central budget is over 3 billion VND, the provincial budget is over 101 billion VND, the district budget is over 48.8 billion VND, and people and businesses contribute over 67 billion VND.

Awarding Certificates of Merit from the People’s Committee of An Giang Province and Certificates of Merit from the People’s Committee of Phu Tan District to groups and individuals who have contributed to the emulation movement to build new rural areas in Tan Trung commune.

Implementing the motto of the State and People working together, the People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, commune organizations and hamlets have promoted propaganda and mobilized people to participate in building new rural areas with many practical models. Typical examples include: Flower route models, residential street energy lights, rural beautification, building Great Solidarity houses, building rural roads… To date, the average income per capita in Tan Trung commune has reached over 56 million VND/person/year; The multidimensional poverty rate decreased to 3.71%; Trained workforce reached 72.53%…

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development An Giang Nguyen Si Lam congratulated and praised the outstanding efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Trung commune in implementing the targets and criteria for building new rural areas.

At the same time, localities are required to continue promoting propaganda work so that people can proactively and actively participate in building new rural areas, associated with the campaign for the entire population to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas; Maintain and improve the quality of criteria to strive to bring the commune to the standard of “New Advanced Rural Commune” in the coming time.

In addition, focus on directing and consolidating and improving the quality of volatile and unsustainable criteria, such as: Rate of poor households, income, rate of people participating in health insurance, environment, and security. Social order, administrative reform… create a premise for socio-economic development, improving people’s living standards for the better.
