To overcome the above situation, right in the first quarter of 2024, administrative reform work will be reported on its implementation status at regular monthly meetings of the Provincial People’s Committee to promptly direct to overcome shortcomings and limitations. Accordingly, the rate of resolving administrative procedure documents on time in the first quarter of 2024 is 98.6%, an increase of 3% compared to the same period in 2023. Timely fix problems

On April 2, the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) 2023 was announced. Accordingly, Ba Ria – Vung Tau scored 44.5746, ranked 9/63 provinces and cities nationwide and leading the Southeast region. Compared to 2022, Ba Ria – Vung Tau has increased 25 places on the PAPI rankings.

Notably, the province recorded an improvement in scores in all 8 evaluated areas, including: people’s participation at the grassroots level, transparency, accountability to the people, control corruption in the public sector, public administrative procedures, public service delivery, environmental governance and e-governance.

According to experts, this is a big step forward for Ba Ria – Vung Tau in administrative reform, modernizing management and serving people better and better. This result reflects the efforts of local authorities in listening and absorbing people’s opinions and gradually overcoming limitations and shortcomings.

To achieve the above results, as soon as the 2022 PAPI Index was announced (reaching 41.99/80 points, ranked 34/63 provinces/cities and increasing 13 places compared to 2021), the Provincial People’s Committee organized The conference discussed solutions to improve the PAPI Index, inviting industry experts to evaluate the province’s 2022 PAPI index results. By 2024, the province strives to have 100% of citizen information residing in the area collected and updated on the National Population Database system; At least 90% of people are satisfied with the service of state administrative agencies, at least 85% of people are satisfied with the provision of public health and education services; The rate of processing documents on time is at least 98%.

According to Mr. Truong Thanh Phong, Director of the Department of Home Affairs, the province always asks for advice, regularly researches, exchanges, and learns from experiences from provinces and cities that have good innovative models to research, apply, and applied to actual conditions in the province.

From there, the Department of Home Affairs coordinated with relevant agencies to analyze the results, point out limitations and advise the Provincial People’s Committee on solutions to maintain the content highly appreciated by the people, at the same time.
