For the Canadian market, by the end of June 2023, Canada had investigated a total of 364 trade defense cases and had applied measures in 232 cases. Mexico and Vietnam are both members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). This is our potential market thanks to preferential tariff commitments under the CPTPP Agreement. According to WTO statistics, by the end of June 2023, Mexico had initiated investigations into 186 trade defense cases, including 159 cases where measures were applied.

Since the CPTPP Agreement took effect, Mexico has investigated 3 anti-dumping cases with Vietnam, including: galvanized steel (initiated in 2021), cold-rolled steel coil (initiated in 2022) and welding wire (initiated in 2022). year 2023).

India is the country that has investigated 31 trade defense cases against Vietnamese goods. In 2023, India will continue to conduct new anti-dumping investigations on stainless steel welded pipes and trade defense measures reviews on stainless steel welded pipes, copper pipes, and PVC plastic beads.

Among ASEAN member partner countries, 4 countries use trade defense measures with Vietnam, including: Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand. In particular, Malaysia has investigated 10 trade defense cases related to Vietnamese export goods. Since 2021, Malaysia has not initiated an investigation into a new case with Vietnam. Currently, Malaysia is applying trade defense measures to 7 Vietnamese products, mainly steel products.

As for Indonesia, this country has investigated 14 trade defense cases related to Vietnamese export goods. The Philippines has investigated 14 trade defense cases related to Vietnamese export goods. Thailand has investigated 8 cases related to Vietnamese export goods, including 6 anti-dumping cases and 2 self-defense cases.

In the Northeast Asian market, as of June 2023, Korea has investigated and applied 4 anti-dumping measures on Vietnamese export goods.

The Australian market has investigated 18 trade defense cases related to Vietnamese export goods.

The Turkish market has investigated 26 trade defense cases related to Vietnamese export goods.

In addition, the report also stated that African markets rarely conduct trade defense investigations on Vietnamese export goods. Statistics show that two countries, Egypt and Morocco, in the African market have investigated and applied trade defense measures related to Vietnamese export goods.

Increase early warning

The nature of cases will also become increasingly complex and more difficult to respond and handle.
