On the evening of April 24 Qatar time, U23 Vietnam had a relaxing practice session after the match with U23 Uzbekistan in the final round of Group D of the 2024 U23 Asian Finals.

The whole team was not too affected mentally after the 0-3 loss. Instead, as coach Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed, U23 Vietnam will aim for the best preparation to show a different face in the quarterfinals against U23 Iraq, taking place at 0:30 on April 27.

Sharing before the training session, left back Khuat Van Khang said the whole team did not think much about the loss to U23 Uzbekistan as they tried their best. Any mistakes will be learned by the coaching staff in team meetings.

“The meeting after the match against U23 Uzbekistan was nothing special. The whole team talked together to strengthen their spirit.

The players tried their best. We are very comfortable in preparing for the quarterfinal match,” Van Khang said.

Recalling the masterpiece free kick against U23 Malaysia, Khuat Van Khang thanked captain Quan Van Chuan for his feedback.

“I have regularly practiced free kick situations. Talking about that goal, I also remember the advice of captain Quan Van Chuan. He told me to pay attention to the goalkeeper. When running, watch the direction of movement. of the goalkeeper to choose the angle of the shot. Thanks to that advice, I took the free kick well and scored,” Khang said.

Sharing about U23 Vietnam’s preparations before the quarter-finals, the player on the staff of The Cong Club – Viettel said the most important thing is still the team’s playing spirit, the determination to create surprises.

Currently, the coaching staff is creating a comfortable atmosphere for the players and will soon have tactical meetings to learn from things that need to be improved to achieve the best performance against Iraq U23.
