BNEWSEastern Power Transmission 2 has implemented solutions to operate line equipment and transformer stations to ensure continuous safe operation to provide enough electricity during this year’s dry season.

Eastern Power Transmission 2 (Power Transmission Company 4) is currently managing and operating the power grid passing through the provinces of Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh with a scale of 27 lines; including 7 500kV lines and 20 220kV lines. The power lines and transformer stations pass through an area including 3 provinces, cities, 22 districts, towns, cities and 107 communes, wards and towns.

Following Directive 05/CT-BCT and the instructions of leaders at all levels on ensuring electricity supply during the peak months of the dry season in 2024, Eastern Power Transmission 2 has implemented transportation solutions. Operate line equipment and transformer stations to ensure continuous safe operation to provide enough electricity during this year’s dry season.

Mr. Nguyen Van Lich – Deputy Director of Eastern Power Transmission 2 said that with the determination to not let power transmission grid incidents occur during the peak heat waves of 2024, right from the first months of the year, the Company’s leaders Power Transmission 4 has directed functional departments and affiliated units to strengthen technical management, regularly monitor the operating status of lines and transformer stations to deploy specific solutions to check, organize a review and reassess the overall status of the power grid system. Combined with the use of thermal cameras, Flycam checks connections and equipment on lines and at transformer stations, especially lightning protection systems, repairs, maintains and replaces unsafe equipment. Ensuring the operation and installation of cameras on pillars passing through protective forests and places with high risk of fire.

In addition, the unit organizes inspection and clearing of power grid corridors to handle tall trees outside the corridor that are at risk of falling into the lines. At the same time, units also strengthen response forces to handle unusual situations, coordinate well with people, local authorities at all levels, and 500kV line protection forces when there is information due to fire alarms. with the operational management unit implementing option 4 on-site.

Along with technical operational management, Eastern Power Transmission 2 also focuses on coordinating with local government agencies and schools to promote fire prevention propaganda and prohibited acts such as flying kites. , releasing flying objects poses a risk of damage to high voltage lines.

Due to the complicated developments of the weather, especially the increased load demand has led to some transformer stations and 220kV and 500kV transmission lines operating at full load and overloaded during the prolonged heat wave. The unit has mobilized all staff operating the line to organize inspections of all areas at risk of fire in and near the 220kV, 500kV line corridors, and areas near transformer stations.

On the other hand, make plans to handle and eliminate risks and prevent incidents from occurring due to fire in and near the transmission line safety corridor; Review and supplement plans for coordinating forest and field fire prevention and fighting in areas near power transmission lines.

Pay special attention to electrical safety issues when fighting fires near 220kV and 500kV lines (supervise and ensure a safe distance from firefighting vehicles to live lines, and ensure no discharge from the lines to the area). fire fighting area). Check and fully install warning signs and prohibition signs according to regulations; Raise the sense of responsibility of officials and employees in the management and operation of power transmission grids.

Along with that, the unit regularly monitors forest fire warning information on the Forest Protection Department’s early fire warning information system at the website: kiemlam.org.vn; outdoor temperature and weather warning information from the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting; on central and local newspapers, radio and television stations to promptly have prevention and treatment plans.

At the same time, closely coordinate with local authorities, police, and military to organize the prevention and handling of violations of regulations on safety protection of high-voltage power grid projects according to the provisions of law. Strengthen propaganda measures and mobilize organizations and individuals to sign a commitment to strictly comply with regulations on fire prevention and fighting, forest fire prevention and control; Propagate on mass media in localities in appropriate forms of press, radio, and television so that people and organizations can agree and voluntarily coordinate and carry out prevention work. Fire prevention in and near power transmission line safety corridors.

The unit also coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Forest Protection Department, Forestry Companies, Forestry Enterprises and local forest owners to propagate, comply with and well implement regulations on Protect the power transmission grid safety corridor to prevent grid incidents due to forest fires. Proactively communicate between the power transmission unit and local people, authorities and relevant units and departments about forest fires that have the risk of affecting 220kV and 500kV power transmission lines.

In addition, regularly check the communication system to ensure the system is running smoothly (fax machines, landlines, and mobile phones are always online) to promptly serve troubleshooting tasks. , information work with functional forces when unusual situations occur that affect the safety of the power transmission system. Units prepare human resources, vehicles, supplies, and equipment to be ready to coordinate and support each other when an incident occurs.
