At around 8:00 a.m. on April 24, Hoa Binh City Police received a report from Mr. NVH (born 1983, residing in Quynh Lam ward) about the night of April 23 and early morning of April 24, thieves broke into his house and stole many properties (including 2 phones (iPhone 15 Promax and Samsung Galaxy Jump) and 13 million VND in cash), total value is about 56 million VND.

Receiving the news, the police force organized a scene examination, investigation, verification, and investigation. The subject of property theft was identified as Lai Trung Thanh (born 1984, residing in Coc Lay village, Ban Phiet commune, Bao Thang district, Lao Cai).

At 10:30 a.m. on the same day, the force arrested Thanh and confiscated all evidence and property from him in accordance with the victim’s report.

At the investigation agency, the subject initially admitted all of his crimes and confessed that on the afternoon of April 23, he took a bus from Lao Cai to Hanoi. When arriving in Hoa Binh city, the subject got out of the car and wandered around, waiting until late at night to find vulnerable households to break in and steal property.

Thanh himself had 3 previous convictions for property theft, with a total prison sentence of 8 years and 6 months.

The Police Department of Hoa Binh City implemented an emergency detention order and issued a decision to temporarily detain the subject Lai Trung Thanh.
