The two Ministers assessed that economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia has developed significantly in recent years. Indonesia is Vietnam’s 3rd largest trading partner and Vietnam is Indonesia’s 4th largest trading partner in ASEAN. Aiming to bring bilateral trade turnover to 18 billion USD by 2028 in a more balanced direction, the two sides encourage to soon organize a meeting of the Joint Committee on economic, scientific and technical cooperation to exchange information. on measures to overcome difficulties and take advantage of the potential for cooperation between the two countries; Organize trade promotion activities, trade connections, and support businesses in accessing each other’s markets.

The two sides agreed to coordinate to maintain ASEAN’s solidarity and agreed principles on the East Sea issue to ensure peace, stability and prosperity in the region, on the basis of international law, including UNCLOS. 1982, promoting the full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), actively promoting and soon achieving a substantive and effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC), in accordance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982.
