(PLO) – According to forecasts, in the Southern region in the first half of May there will still be widespread, long-term heat waves.

The average number of hot days and highest temperature in hot months is higher than average. The highest temperature in this year’s hot season is from 39.0-39.5 degrees, approximately in 2023. The average temperature from April to June is significantly higher than average (1-2 degrees), July to October is approximately not much higher than average.
It is forecast that in the next two to three days, heat will still occur in a large area in the South, with severe heat in some places. Among them, some provinces and cities such as Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An… have the highest temperature from about 35-37 degrees Celsius. The heat in the entire Southern region is likely to last. for many days to come.
During these days, the ultraviolet index (UV rays) has increased beyond the threshold in many provinces and cities. People need to take measures to protect their health and skin when traveling on the street, especially during the hours of about 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
