Conference of Vietnam Coast Guard and Philippine Coast Guard

At the conference, the Commanders of the two forces highly appreciated the results of cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Philippine Coast Guard in recent times. Major General Le Quang Dao emphasized that the relationship between the two sides is on the path of favorable and effective development since the Commanders of the two forces signed and exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on maritime cooperation between the two forces, under witnessed by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the President of the Republic of the Philippines in January 2024.

The two sides also discussed cooperative activities in 2024. Accordingly, the two sides agreed: The Vietnam Coast Guard is expected to send ships to visit and interact with the Philippine Coast Guard; organize the second bilateral conference between the two forces in the Philippines; The Philippine Coast Guard expressed its expectation to participate in the second “Vietnam Coast Guard and Friends” exchange program in Hanoi in December 2024.

In addition, the two sides will actively participate in programs, training courses, and conferences hosted by both sides; Participate responsibly in activities within the multilateral framework of which the two sides are members and continue to increase information exchange on maritime law enforcement, anti-piracy, armed robbery, search and rescue , rescue.

The conference took place in an intimate, open and respectful atmosphere. The two sides reached a high consensus in continuing to promote cooperation in maritime law enforcement between the two forces on the basis of compliance with international law, serving the common goals of the two countries. participating for a secure, safe and prosperous maritime zone in the region.
