Former Chairman of An Giang province Vuong Binh Thanh and former Chairman of Soc Trang province Tran Van Chuyen were warned and reprimanded by the Central Inspection Committee, respectively.
At its 40th session (April 23-24), the Central Inspection Committee concluded that Mr. Thanh and Chuyen had violated the Party’s regulations and violated the law in performing their assigned responsibilities and tasks. The two men also violated the regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and their responsibility to set an example.
Violations “cause serious consequences, bad public opinion, and reduce the reputation of the party organization and local government, to the point that they must be considered and disciplined.”
Mr. Vuong Binh Thanh retired according to regulations from April 1, 2019, after nearly two terms as Chairman of An Giang Provincial People’s Committee (2010-2015 and 2016-2021).
Mr. Tran Van Chuyen was elected chairman of the People’s Committee of Soc Trang province for the 2016-2021 term in July 2016. In November 2020, he retired according to the regime.

At the meeting, the Central Inspection Committee reviewed the results of supervision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee of Thai Binh and Bac Lieu. The Committee requires organizations and individuals to seriously review, learn from experience, and promptly overcome violations, shortcomings, and limitations in leadership, direction, and implementation of Working Regulations; staff work and land management and use in investment projects; declaration of assets and income.
The Central Inspection Committee requested the Standing Committee of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee to direct inspections when there are signs of violations against the Party Committee of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and report the results to the Committee.
