Recently, Khanh Hoa Newspaper received a petition from the owners of a number of sales kiosks at Nha Trang Cruise Wharf reflecting inadequacies related to business activities in this area. Verification shows that the arrangement of service kiosks at the wharf is carried out in accordance with regulations; There is no competition for sales, attracting customers, or encroaching on customer corridors to sell.

According to the complaint, in recent times, business households at the wharf have basically strictly complied with the regulations of the wharf management board in business and trading activities. However, there are still business households encroaching on the sidewalk corridors of the wharf to arbitrarily place tables, chairs, and umbrellas in contravention of regulations, affecting the movement of tourists for the purpose of competing for sales. goods at high prices; Seducing and forcing tour guides to take customers to buy goods; hiring sales staff to serve customers with an impolite attitude… This situation has been going on for a long time, causing frustration and affecting the reputation of genuine businesses, as well as the reputation and quality of supply. tourism services at the wharf in particular, the image and brand of Nha Trang – a civilized and friendly coastal tourist city of the province in general. The applicant petitioned the competent authorities to inspect, verify, and have solutions to resolve the above inadequacies to contribute to the increasingly sustainable development of Nha Trang tourism.

Business kiosks at Nha Trang tourist wharf comply with regulations quite well.

Talking to reporters about some contents reporting inadequacies at Nha Trang tourist wharf, Mr. Huynh Binh Thai – Head of Nha Trang Bay Management Board said that the unit also received a similar application, without specifying full name, Address. The Management Board stepped in to verify and confirmed that the report was unfounded. The Management Board has reported the verification results to the City People’s Committee. Nha Trang.

Verification results of the Nha Trang Bay Management Board clearly show that recently, business households at Nha Trang Tourist Wharf have arranged a number of umbrellas on the wharf’s sidewalks to shield the sunlight and avoid damage to goods. and create shade for visitors to shop (all kiosks in sunny directions have umbrellas). After receiving the complaint, the Bay Management Board requested kiosk owners not to place umbrellas on the sidewalk within the wharf grounds. The report that there is a situation of seducing and forcing tour guides to take customers to buy goods, or manipulating customers, has absolutely no basis for conclusion. In fact, visitors entering the wharf are free to move around and buy goods at any kiosk.

Regarding the sale of high-priced goods and cutting corners, the Bay Management Board said that, at the time of handing over the kiosk premises to the organizations and individuals who won the auction for business organizations, the Bay Management Board requested the organizations, Individuals strictly comply with legal regulations on business. Through inspection, the kiosk owners clearly listed prices. The business items mainly serve the needs of sea and island visitors, so they are relatively similar and visitors can compare prices. between kiosks.

Mr. Tran Van Phu – Head of Tourism Services Pier Management Department, Nha Trang Bay Management Board, said that since the business kiosks serving tourists came into operation, the board has organized working sessions with tourist agencies 3 times. The owner rents the kiosk to solve problems that arise during the business process, such as: Conflicts between business households, competition, solicitation of customers… The cause of this situation comes from the fact that some Kiosks have a more favorable position in reaching tourists (these kiosks have higher auction prices than the other kiosks). The Board also required kiosk owners to sign a commitment not to cause insecurity, not to compete or entice customers, to maintain general hygiene and to post prices of services and goods…

As noted by reporters on April 23, sales at kiosks in Nha Trang Tourist Wharf were quite orderly, with no solicitation of customers. The kiosks strictly list the selling price of each product. Pedestrian corridors within the campus are guaranteed. In front of each kiosk, the wharf management board draws a boundary line to avoid the situation where the owner of the goods kiosk occupies the tourist aisle.

Ms. Trinh Thi Be – owner of kiosk No. 5 said: “Because I won the bid on the sea side of the pier, my business is not favorable. However, I always comply with the business regulations set out by the Management Board. From the day it was put into operation until now, the wharf area has not had any solicitation of customers or predatory sales, but there is jealousy between a few kiosks that sell goods and those that do not. The Management Board also met and made adjustments, and all kiosks signed a commitment to strictly implement the regulations. We hope to soon relocate to the front, returning the sea front space to serve as seating for tourists, and also to make business more convenient.”

In early 2023, Nha Trang Bay Management Board invited a unit specializing in auctions to organize an auction of 20 kiosks (10 kiosks on the sea front, 10 kiosks on the pier yard), starting prices from more than 5 million VND/month to more than 8 million VND/month, depending on location. By March 2023, the Bay Management Board has handed over the kiosk premises to the winning organization or individual.

November 2023, City People’s Committee. Nha Trang has had a document agreeing on the policy of re-arranging the location of kiosks to suit tourist access, creating convenience for business owners. Currently, Nha Trang Bay Management Board has completed the plan to relocate, renovate and repair the premises to arrange new kiosks. It is expected to complete the relocation of 10 seaside kiosks to the dock yard area in the second quarter.
