Kon Ray Forestry Company Limited is assigned to manage and protect nearly half of the district’s existing forest area of ​​over 29,490 hectares, mainly production forests.

Right from the beginning of the dry season, the Company has proactively deployed many plans for management, protection, forest development and fire prevention throughout the forest stand. Specifically, promptly and effectively deploy coordination regulations with local authorities and bordering forest owners; To date, 239 patrols of the entire forest stand have been organized, coordinated with communities contracted to protect forests to patrol 92 times/872 participants, and propagate and disseminate the Forestry Law and related legal documents. 33 rounds/1,292 participants participated in forest protection and management and fire prevention.

In addition, the Company has developed 3 fire prevention plans; Strengthen 3 command committees on urgent issues in forest protection & fire prevention; Established 17 fire prevention and fighting groups and teams at the Company and contracted communities to manage and protect forests; signed fire prevention and fighting commitments with 605 households cultivating fields adjacent to forest stands.

“Of the total forest area managed by the unit, more than 2,000 hectares of planted forests are identified as having a high risk of fire. For this area, before the dry season, the Company has cleared the runway as well as cleared burning materials under the forest canopy. The company has also prepared fire prevention works, repaired runways, and propaganda signs to mobilize people to actively participate in fire prevention and fighting; At the same time, prepare the necessary means, tools, and machinery to promptly fight fires when a forest fire occurs” – Mr. Le Viet Bay added.

Therefore, forest fire forecasting is regularly monitored and updated by the authorities on the website of the Provincial Forest Protection Department. and forest fire warning information on the Forest Protection Department’s early fire warning system. From there, promptly notify affiliated units, contracting communities, and forest owners to increase vigilance and strictly implement fire prevention and fighting regimes.

Kon Ray district has more than 60,400 hectares of forest, of which natural forests are over 56,700 hectares and planted forests are over 3,700 hectares. To cope with prolonged hot weather, local authorities and functional forces in the district continue to drastically implement Directive 04/CT-UBND dated January 19, 2024 of the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee on management, protection and fire prevention, focusing on fire prevention and fighting with the motto “4 on the spot”, strengthening patrol forces, clearing vegetation, building fire runways to promptly handle and minimize the forest area. damage if a fire occurs.
