Looking at the numbers for 2023, seafood exploitation output will be about 140,500 tons, while aquaculture output will reach approximately 73,500 tons, creating strong and sustainable marine economic development.

According to Thanh Hoa Provincial Fisheries Department, in April, aquatic exploitation output was estimated at 17.7 thousand tons, up 102.9% over the same period, of which 11.4 thousand tons were exploited at sea, aquaculture nearly 6,000 tons. Cumulatively in the first four months of the year, exploitation and farming output is estimated to reach more than 68,000 tons, up 100.7% over the same period.

Currently, the province has eight fishing ports, of which three fishing ports are type II and five fishing ports are type III. In addition, there are four storm shelters for fishing vessels, 25 shipbuilding and repair facilities and 28 enterprises specializing in processing and exporting seafood.
