*Price of live pigs in the North calm
The hog market in the North did not record any new changes in price.
Accordingly, the highest transaction level is 64,000 VND/kg, currently in Thai Binh and Hanoi.
Traders in the remaining provinces continue to buy live pigs at stable prices in the range of 62,000 – 63,000 VND/kg.
Today’s pork price in the North ranges from 62,000 – 64,000 VND/kg.
*Price of live pigs in the Central region and Central Highlands relatively stable
According to records, the price of live pigs in the Central region and Central Highlands does not have too many new fluctuations.
Traders in most provinces are trading live pigs around an average of 61,000 VND/kg.
Nghe An province alone increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg to 62,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central region and Central Highlands ranges from 60,000 – 63,000 VND/kg.
*Price of pork in the South scattered increases
The price of live pigs in the Southern region increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg in some places.
Specifically, the two provinces of Long An and Vinh Long both adjusted transactions to 62,000 VND/kg.
Live pigs in An Giang, Can Tho and Ca Mau are being purchased at a price of 61,000 VND/kg.
The price of live pigs in the Southern region today fluctuates between 60,000 – 62,000 VND/kg.
*According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Cu Jut district (Dak Nong), subjective psychology and neglect of livestock diseases still occur in some places, especially for small-scale farming households. Many local cases of the disease originate from the buying and selling of breeds of unknown origin.
A report from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shows that, at the end of March and early April 2024, there were 2 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) appearing in Nam Dong commune, Cu Jut district and Dak Som commune, Dak Glong district. The number of infected pigs must be destroyed, 27, weighing 688kg.
Since the beginning of the year until now, Dak Nong has had 223 pigs infected with ASF, which were forced to be destroyed. Of these, 196 were transported by people from other places to Dak R’tíh commune, Tuy Duc district to provide breeds for people.
Fortunately, the authorities took samples and detected them promptly, so 196 breeding pigs have not entered the livestock environment in the area, Vietnam Livestock magazine reported.
Dak Nong Agriculture Industry recommends that people be proactive in implementing ASF prevention and control measures.
