(PLO) – Dozens of people use flashlights to catch fish in the Da Huoai River when the river’s water source is drying up.

On the evening of April 24, dozens of people in Ha Lam commune, Da Huoai district, Lam Dong province went to Da Huoai river to catch fish.

A bustling scene took place at the iron bridge area in village 4, Ha Lam commune when dozens of people waded into the river to catch fish.

Currently this river is dry, only a few small, shallow puddles remain. Many people use nets to catch fish, and some people also bring small electric shockers to sting the fish.

Records show that many people have caught dozens of kilograms of fish of all kinds, large and small.

Above the iron bridge, there were many people watching and cheering, creating a quite bustling scene in the durian capital of Da Huoai district.

As PLO has just written an article reflecting the drought and lack of irrigation water, thousands of hectares of durian in Da Huoai district are suffering from water shortage.

In particular, the area where people catch fish lives Da Huoai River is the durian capital with 1,675 hectares of durian trees.

Notably, nearly 1,400 hectares of trees are being harvested. However, due to the depletion of river, stream and pond water sources, many hectares of durian lack water in Ha Lam commune.
