Traffic police discovered 3.5 tons of diameter of unknown origin

During the performance of their duties, the road traffic control patrol team of the Traffic Police Department of Quang Binh Provincial Police recently discovered and temporarily detained a shipment of 3.5 tons of diameter of unknown origin.

At about 9:30 a.m. on April 24, 2024, at km 687 National Highway 1A in Hong Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, during the performance of its duties, the road traffic control patrol team of the Provincial Police Traffic Police Department Quang Binh stopped a truck with license plate number 38H-024.71 driven by driver Nguyen Van Toan (born 1999; residing in Cam Ha, Cam Xuyen, Ha Tinh) driving in the South-North direction with many suspicious signs.

Through inspection, it was discovered that inside the truck there were 70 diameter bags with foreign words, total weight 3.5 tons, estimated value of the goods about 55 million VND. At the time of inspection, driver Nguyen Van Toan could not present documents proving the legal origin of the above goods.

The working group made a record of the case and handed it over to Market Management Team No. 7 – Quang Binh Market Management Department to handle according to the provisions of law.
