Previously, through the work of understanding the situation in cyberspace, the Department of Cyber ​​​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05), Da Nang City Police discovered on the social network Facebook that accounts appear. Articles such as: “One Heart Towards Buddha – Compassionate Nun”, “Mysterious Buddha Dharma – Nun Nhan Do”, “Nun Tam Phuc”, “Mysterious Buddha Dharma – Nun Tam Ha”… are regularly posted Images of pitiful situations (accidents, serious illnesses, loneliness, orphans, etc.) accompanied by articles calling on people to make charitable donations to many personal bank accounts.

Continuing to verify, Room PA05 identified the above Facebook accounts impersonating Bhikkhuni Thich Nu Tuong Phuc (living in Hue) and using images of victims treated at major hospitals in the city. Da Nang calls for donations for the purpose of fraudulent appropriation of property.

Using professional measures, Department PA05 determined that the subject of the fraudulent act was living in Ho Chi Minh City, so it reported to the Director of Da Nang City Police to develop a plan to coordinate the police. Relevant units set up a working group in Ho Chi Minh City to verify and arrest the suspect.

At 4:00 p.m. on April 18, the Working Group of Da Nang City Police determined that suspect Le Dinh Hai was renting a room in Binh Tri Dong ward, Binh Tan district, so they summoned the suspect to the police headquarters. .

Many people have trusted to transfer donations from 20,000 VND to 2 million VND into many different accounts used by Hai, including more than 12 bank cards of all types with a total transaction amount of over 10 billion VND. The transaction amount in Le Dinh Hai’s personal account alone is nearly 6 billion VND. In addition, there is an account number named Truong Thi Huyen Tran, account number 12731888 of Military Bank (MBbank) that received a total amount of more than 1 billion 200 million VND, account Nguyen Tien Dung account number 19072133620011 of the Bank. Vietnam Techcombank (Teckcombank) more than 550 million VND.

With the above trick, from the beginning of 2021 until the time of his arrest, Hai appropriated billions of dong from more than tens of thousands of victims nationwide.
