Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee said: With the strengths in clean energy production and renewable energy, especially the Department of Planning and Investment of Lao Cai province and Japanese EREX Joint Stock Company awarded the Minutes. Memorandum on the implementation of the Bao Thang Biomass Power Plant project (Lao Cai) at the Investment and Tourism Promotion Workshop in Lao Cai held on April 23 as a basis for Lao Cai and EREX to further strengthen more cooperative relationships, mutual development.

The head of Lao Cai provincial government committed to providing enough raw material areas for EREX to produce biomass electricity because Lao Cai has up to 4 raw material production units. Lao Cai is also the locality with the largest demand for electricity in the region, especially Tang Loong industrial park.
Mr. Honna Hitoshi, President and General Director of EREX Japan Joint Stock Company, said he was very impressed with a green province like Lao Cai. Mr. Honna Hitoshi informed: Currently the Company is preparing to invest in 18 projects. Through research, the Company found that Lao Cai has a lot of potential for biomass electricity, and the electricity demand of Lao Cai and the region is still very large. From the information provided by the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee, EREX found that there are absolutely enough conditions for the project to be implemented immediately. To ensure investment efficiency and economic efficiency, the Company wishes to invest in Lao Cai a factory with a capacity similar to the factory that the Company is about to deploy in Yen Bai and Tuyen Quang. The problem is to have a stable supply to serve biomass electricity production activities.
Agreeing with Mr. Honna Hitoshi’s proposal, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trinh Xuan Truong said that this is the right time for the Company to invest in building a factory in Lao Cai.
