Vietnam is the only country that can fully participate in all stages of the semiconductor chain!

Speaking at the Conference, FPT Group Chairman Truong Gia Binh shared that a week ago during a meeting with the US ambassador, Japanese ambassador, and Singapore ambassador, an ambassador told him: “You don’t You don’t know how big your country’s opportunities are. But you only have 18 months.”

The Chairman of FPT Group emphasized that the opportunity here is semiconductors. The semiconductor industry chooses countries and peoples. But Vietnam only has 18 months because the world will not wait for us. Then the world will have to choose another path if Vietnam cannot respond promptly. At any cost, the world cannot lack chips.

During the Covid-19 period, America’s leading automobile company could not sell what it produced. The American Semiconductor Association goes to countries to promote, make lists, build and now spend tons of money to be able to produce, so as not to be afraid of supply chain disruption. The same goes for the Japanese government and other countries.

“I very much support the Prime Minister’s approach. That’s the only way we can make it in time. We have to calculate the 18-month period by approaching and breaking through. I agree with Minister Nguyen Chi Dung’s approach that we We look at big problems, don’t do small things” – Mr. Binh said.

This businessman also revealed that Mr. Jensen Huang – CEO of NVIDIA, when coming to Vietnam, said: Vietnam is the only country that can fully participate in all stages of the semiconductor chain.

“New breakthrough is important. We must have an institutional breakthrough. In 18 months we must show: Vietnam not only has the opportunity but is also committed to that opportunity” – Mr. Binh concluded – “The same commitment As Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said: Vietnam must be a human resource hub. So how to become a human resource hub immediately? The government and 7 universities in Taiwan came to meet with Dai National University, Polytechnic University, University of Technology and FPT to recruit people. Countries are willing to sponsor tuition, air tickets, living expenses… and we have to meet the most maybe human resources for them. Because they said: there is a shortage of 1 million people. We need to prove that Vietnam has students willing to study.”
