On the morning of April 25, information from the People’s Committee of Quang Yen Town, at 5:10 a.m. on the same day April 25, on the channel of Chanh River (the section within the administrative boundaries managed by the People’s Committee of Ha An Ward and Phong Hai Ward) occurred. sinking accident of a bamboo boat with a maximum length of less than 6m.

On the vehicle at this time was Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen (born 1979, residing in area 12, Ha An ward, Quang Yen town) – the vehicle owner and 5 citizens working in seafood. While moving from Phong Hai wharf to Ha An wharf across the Chanh River, the group encountered a storm that overturned the bamboo boat, leaving 4 people missing.

Through initial verification, 4 people were missing including: Ms. NTH (born 1982); NTM (born 1983); NTNGh (born 1979, residing in Dinh 1 village, Lien Vi commune, Quang Yen town) and Ms. DTC (born 1966, residing in Cam Lien village, Cam La commune, Quang Yen town).

Particularly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen and Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhip (born 1980, residing in Nam 2 Village, Lien Vi Commune, Quang Yen Town) swam to shore and were safely rescued.

Immediately after receiving the news, the People’s Committee of Quang Yen Town directed the Town Military Command, Town Police, Ha An Ward People’s Committee and the town’s functional forces to coordinate with the Border Guard Station. Ha An, Fleet 1 – Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security mobilized over 250 people and 12 ships, went down to search (7 ships, from functional forces, 5 vehicles mobilized from people) and directed Localities along both sides of the Chanh River near the area where the accident occurred focused on reviewing, searching, and rescuing missing victims.

Currently, the authorities have not found the four missing victims. The People’s Committee of Quang Yen Town is continuing to direct the search for victims.
