The incident happened at 5:10 a.m. on April 25.
At this time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen (45 years old, vehicle owner) and 5 other people were traveling by bamboo boat to go fishing.
While moving from Phong Hai wharf to Ha An wharf across Chanh River to area 12, Ha An ward, we encountered a thunderstorm and capsized the boat, leaving 4 people missing.
As for Ms. Tuyen, the vehicle owner, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhip (44 years old) swam to shore and were safely rescued.
The four missing people include Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (42 years old), Nguyen Thi Mo (41 years old), Nguyen Thi Nghia (45 years old), Duong Thi Cuong (56 years old). All four people reside in Quang Yen town.
Quang Yen town authorities mobilized over 250 people and 12 ships and boats to search.
