Four National Highway sections passing through Ho Chi Minh City, including National Highway 1, National Highway 1K, National Highway 22 and National Highway 50, are being consulted by localities about changing their names. The comments will be compiled by localities and sent to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.

The above information is stated in a document from the Department of Culture and Sports sent to the People’s Committee of Thu Duc City and districts 8, 12, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, on the implementation of public consultation. for the plan to name Party and State leaders and commanders of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign for roads in Ho Chi Minh City.

Specifically, National Highway 1 has 3 sections proposed to be renamed:

Section 1 – from Thu Duc intersection (old Station 2 intersection) to An Suong intersection (passing Thu Duc City, District 12), 21 km long – is expected to be named Do Muoi.

Section 2 – from An Suong intersection to An Lac roundabout (district 12, Hoc Mon district, Binh Tan district), 14.2 km long – is expected to be named Le Duc Anh.

Section 3 – from An Lac roundabout to Long An province boundary (Binh Tan district, Binh Chanh district), 9.4 km long – is expected to be named Le Kha Phieu.

National Highway 1K:

It is expected to name Hoang Cam for the section from National Highway 1 to the Binh Duong provincial border (Thu Duc City), 1.8 km long.

Highway 22 has 2 sections proposed to be renamed:

Section 1 – from National Highway 1 to An Ha bridge (Hoc Mon district, district 12), 10 km long – is expected to be named Le Quang Dao.

Section 2 – from An Ha bridge to Tay Ninh province border (Cu Chi district), 20 km long – is expected to be named Phan Van Khai.

Highway 50:

It is planned to name Van Tien Dung for the section from Nhi Thien Duong bridge to Long An province border (District 8, Binh Chanh district), nearly 11km long.

Currently, localities are collecting people’s opinions to report to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.
