On the morning of April 25, Dong Thap Province’s Confederation of Labor coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to organize the Launching Ceremony of Workers’ Month and Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene in 2024.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Kieu The Lam – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Mr. Pham Viet Cong – Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui – Chairwoman of Dong Thap Province’s Confederation of Labor, along with representatives of leaders of departments, branches, and 500 civil servants, public employees, union members, and workers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Thuy – Vice President of Dong Thap Province’s Confederation of Labor – said that Workers’ Month 2024 associated with the month of action on occupational safety and hygiene, Dong Thap Province’s Confederation of Labor will focus operates in 9 key content groups.
The first is to coordinate with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to organize the launching ceremony of the year’s Workers’ Month and the Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene in 2024.
Second, organize a companion walking program to respond.
Third, coordinate with the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province and the Provincial Social Insurance to organize a conference to meet with voters to give comments on the Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law (amended).
Fourth, organize a conference to praise typical collectives and individuals from the emulation movement “Good workers, creative workers” and “Study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style.” ” among workers, officials, and laborers in 2024.
Annually, organize meetings, visits and encouragement, and give gifts to workers in particularly difficult circumstances or who have suffered labor accidents.
Sixth, hand over at least 5 “Trade Union Warm” houses to union members with housing difficulties.
Seventh, coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Trade and Tourism Promotion Center of Dong Thap province to organize 2 markets to bring Vietnamese goods to industrial zones and clusters in the area.
Eighth, organize a conference to summarize the “Welfare Program” for union members in the period 2018 – 2023.
Nine, organize a peak month to develop union members and establish a grassroots trade union.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee to 4 collectives and 5 individuals who achieved outstanding achievements in occupational safety and hygiene in 2023. At the same time, awarded 5 Certificates of Merit to the Labor Confederation of Dong province. Awarded to 5 collectives with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement with the theme “Green – Clean – Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene in 2023.
After the launching ceremony, delegates participated in a walk through the inner streets of Ward 1, Cao Lanh City to respond to Workers’ Month associated with the Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene in 2024.
