On the morning of April 25, the People’s Committee of Quang Yen town (Quang Ninh) said that the functional forces were mobilizing vehicles and human resources to search for 4 people missing after a boat capsized on the Chanh River.

The accident occurred at 5:10 a.m. on April 25, on Chanh River (the border between Ha An and Phong Hai wards).

At that time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen (born 1979, residing in area 12, Ha An ward, Quang Yen town, vehicle owner) drove 5 people to the aquaculture area.

While moving from Phong Hai wharf to Ha An wharf across the Chanh River, the boat was sunk by a storm, leaving 4 people missing.

The four victims include: Nguyen Thi Huong (born 1982); Nguyen Thi Mo (born 1983); Nguyen Thi Nghia (born 1979, residing in Dinh 1 village, Lien Vi commune, Quang Yen town) and Duong Thi Cuong (born 1966, residing in Cam Lien village, Cam La commune, Quang Yen town).

Ms. Tuyen and Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhip (born 1980, residing in Nam 2 Village, Lien Vi Commune, Quang Yen Town) swam to shore and were rescued safely.

Immediately upon receiving the information, the People’s Committee of Quang Yen Town directed units and localities to coordinate with Ha An Border Guard Station, Fleet 1 – Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security to mobilize over 250 people and 12 ships and boats searched.

Along with that, Quang Yen town requested localities along both sides of the Chanh River, near the area where the accident occurred, to focus on reviewing and searching for missing victims.

Currently, the search has not yielded any results.

Four days ago, in the waters of Quang Ninh, a ship sank due to a storm, leaving four Thanh Hoa fishermen missing. The fishing boat in distress was numbered TH-90088-TS, owned by Mr. Hoang Van San (residing in Dien village, Quang Nham commune, Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa).

At the time of the accident, there were 8 crew members on board. Among them, 4 people were rescued by foreign ships, including: Duong Van Hoa (born 1982), Vu Van Hai (born 1989), Hoang Van Dong (born 1987) and Ngo Van Can (born 1990), all residing in Quang Nham commune.

Four crew members are missing, including: Hoang Van San (born 1979), Tran Van Thiet (born 1982), Hoang Van Linh (born 1989) and Hoang Van Thieu (born 1983), all residing in Quang Nham commune.

On April 23, divers found the bodies of three fishermen in the ship’s cabin. The remaining victim, Mr. Hoang Van San (owner of the fishing boat), has not yet been found.
