On the morning of April 25, the People’s Committee of Ben Cat town, Binh Duong province solemnly held a ceremony to announce the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment of An Dien ward, An Tay ward in Ben Cat town and the establishment of the city. Sand berth.

At the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Law Committee, announced the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment of An Dien ward, An Tay ward in Ben Cat town and the establishment of the City. Sand berth.

The resolution to establish Ben Cat City, An Dien and An Tay wards officially takes effect from May 1.

An Dien ward was established based on the entire area of ​​31.22 km2 and population of 25,363 people of An Dien commune.

An Tay ward was established based on the entire area of ​​44.01 km2 and population of 41,917 people of An Tay commune.

Established Ben Cat City based on the entire area of ​​234.35 km2 and population of 364,578 people of Ben Cat town. After its establishment, Ben Cat City has eight commune-level administrative units, including seven wards: An Dien, An Tay, Chanh Phu Hoa, Hoa Loi, My Phuoc, Tan Dinh, Thoi Hoa and Phu An commune.

Thus, after Ben Cat town officially became a city, Binh Duong has nine district-level administrative units, including four districts and five cities: Thu Dau Mot City, Thuan An City, Di An City, Tan Uyen City and Ho Chi Minh City. Sand berth.

Up to now, Binh Duong has 5 cities, the locality with the most cities in the country.

At the ceremony, the authorities also announced Decision 153 dated February 7, 2024 of the President (signed on behalf of the Vice President), awarding the First Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, authorities and personnel. People of Ben Cat town, for their outstanding achievements in work from 2018 to 2022, contributing to the cause of building socialism and protecting the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded scholarships to disadvantaged and studious students in Ben Cat City.

Ben Cat City currently has eight industrial parks, one concentrated production area with a total area of ​​more than 4,000 hectares, the occupancy rate of industrial parks is over 90%.

In recent years, the rapid pace of urbanization, industrialization and modernization in the town has contributed to attracting many businesses to invest in new establishments and expand production and business, opening up new opportunities. new opportunities and challenges, investment projects in the town increase an average of 13.64% each year.

In 2023 alone, 671 projects will be attracted, bringing the total number of projects in the town to 6,441. Of which, 498 new small and medium enterprises were developed.

Ben Cat also has a smooth traffic system with many key routes passing through such as National Highway 13, My Phuoc -Tan Van, Ring Road 4, DT 741, DT 744… These routes help Ben Cat connect easily. with Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Phuoc, Central Highlands region…
