Announcing the referee of the U23 Vietnam-U23 Iraq quarter-final match

The 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has officially announced the referee team to control the match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Iraq in the quarterfinals of U23 Asia 2024.

The main referee in this match is Mr. Ko Hyung-jin, a Korean. The assistants include Bang Gi Yeol (Korea) and Alrefaei Hesham Mohammed (Saudi Arabia).

This is the second consecutive match of U23 Vietnam at U23 Asia 2024 taking place under the control of a Korean referee.

Previously, the match for the top spot in Group D between U23 Vietnam and U23 Uzbekistan was controlled by referee Kim Woo-sung.

Grandfather Majed Mohammed Alshamrani (Saudi Arabia) takes on the position of referee while Mr. Ahmed Eisa Mohamed Darwish (UAE) controls the VAR room.

Referee Ko Hyung-jin is no stranger to having controlled the match between Team Vietnam and Team Thailand in the final first leg of AFF Cup 2022 at My Dinh Stadium.

The match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Iraq will take place at 0:30 on April 27 at Al Janoub Stadium.

This is the second time the Vietnam U23 Team has met the Iraq U23 Team in the history of the U23 Asian Finals.
