On the morning of April 25, the delegation participating in the “I love my Fatherland” route number 2 led by Mr. Ngo Van Cuong, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Youth Union’s Inspection Committee, visited. historical landmarks and implementing many meaningful activities in Lao Cai.
At the Soi Lan Revolutionary Relic Area (Cam Duong commune, Lao Cai City) – where the first rural Indochinese Communist Party cell in Lao Cai was established, the delegation performed a flag-raising ceremony and sang songs. National anthem and shouting slogan: “For the prosperous and civilized Vietnamese Fatherland – youth” – “Forward”!
After that, the delegation presented 200 national flags to the locality; Giving 20 gifts to veterans and their families martyrs, war invalids, policy families; donated 20 frame maps and 500 paper maps to Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union; donated a happy home to orphaned ethnic minority students in difficult circumstances in Lao Cai City.
The first rural cell of Lao Cai province was established on October 10, 1948 during the extremely difficult period of the resistance war against the French period (1948 – 1950). The Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee decided to use this location as the center of the revolutionary base because it was located in the middle of the enemy’s rear area and had an important strategic position as a springboard to expand and build other guerrilla zones.
During the Le Hong Phong campaign to liberate Lao Cai, reconnaissance forces, military intelligence and the 148th regiment all departed from Cam Duong. Cam Duong – Xuan Giao – Gia Phu guerrilla area for a long time was also the location for the leadership agency of the Provincial Party Committee and Lao Cai Provincial Team, many important meetings of the province were held here.
On this occasion, the traveling group also started construction on “Happy House” at Mr. Do Quoc Te’s household, Suoi Ngan village, Cam Duong commune.
In addition, the delegation also visited, gave gifts and encouraged 850 students of Anh Hong Kindergarten and Binh Minh Primary School (Binh Minh Ward, Lao Cai City).
