Bicycle race “Returning to Dien Bien Phu 2024 – Newspaper Cup People’s Army” will take place from May 1 to May 5. In the 5th time, the tournament will cover a total route of 525 km. The starting point is the capital Hanoi and the ending point is Dien Bien Phu City. The race with the participation of 70 athletes from 10 racing teams including: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Military Region 7, An Giang, Dong Thap, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Vinh Long, Thanh Hoa and Hoa Binh.
Most teams bring their strongest riders to the tournament and fans will see fierce competition. However, the challenge for them at this year’s race will also be huge.

These are also the passes where our ancestors overcame many difficulties and fierceness during the historic Dien Bien Phu campaign.
Participating in the race, the riders also have to face challenging passes, which brings a sense of historical value and national pride. Any racer who cycles on this historic road will clearly feel the pride of the revolutionary tradition that has been forged by generations of ancestors.”

Accordingly, the Organizing Committee will focus on implementing many social security and gratitude activities such as: awarding funds to build 12 gratitude houses, 1 school worth about 6.5 billion VND in Dien Bien, giving donated 30 sanitation facilities to schools in Hoa Binh, Son La, Lai Chau provinces; donated 20 gifts to policy beneficiaries in Hanoi, Hoa Binh, and Son La; 200 gifts for policy families in Dien Bien Phu City and 127 gifts for veterans, young volunteers, and frontline workers participating in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
