Within the framework of the 2nd Dong Thap Lotus Festival in 2024, there will be a lotus ao dai parade with the participation of 5,500 women in the province.
On April 25, Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee announced the 2nd Lotus Festival in 2024 with the theme Radiant lotus color.
Accordingly, following the success of the 1st Lotus Festival in 2022 attracting more than 100,000 visitors, Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee organizes the 2nd Lotus Festival in 2024 with the theme Radiant lotus colorwill take place from May 16 to 19 at Temple of Literature Square (Cao Lanh City).
This festival includes many outstanding activities such as the opening ceremony program with the theme Radiant lotus color; international conference on lotus; workshop to improve the value chain of the lotus industry in Dong Thap province; announced the first batch of lotus exports to Japan; international lotus display space; lotus river; culinary contest of dishes made from lotus; lotus food street; Exhibition of Southern art, paintings and ceramics with the theme of Dong Thap Lotus.
Besides, there are other attractive activities such as making a Vietnam Map from lotus, the lotus space has 66,000 lotus pots with more than 57 lotus varieties. In particular, there will be a lotus ao dai parade with the participation of 5,500 women in the area.
In addition, within the framework of the festival there is also a fair program gathering 250 booths from the Mekong Delta provinces and the whole country; space to display the lotus industry chain, introducing OCOP lotus products and over 120 lotus products.
Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, said that through this Lotus Festival, Dong Thap province wants to introduce local culture and tourism, promote the inherent potential to promote Economic activities from lotus, linking tourism development with agricultural economy. Besides, it opens up many opportunities for connection and exchange of domestic and foreign businesses and people working in the lotus economy, helping the lotus industry develop to match its inherent position and potential.
