There are 10 units participating in the tournament, competing for 18 sets of medals for men, women, and mixed men and women with boats of 10 and 20 rowers at distances of 1,000m, 500m and 200m. On the first day of competition, April 25, competitions at a distance of 500m will take place. Day 2 competes in the 1,000m event and day 3 competes in the 200m event.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Quang Binh, said: The 2024 National Traditional Boat Championship held in Quang Binh is an event in a series of practical activities to welcome celebrate the 420th anniversary of the formation of Quang Binh province (1604 – 2024); 75 years since Quang Binh’s rise (July 15, 1949 – July 15, 2024) and 35 years since the re-establishment of the province (July 1, 1989 – July 1, 2024).

The tournament not only has profound political significance but is also an opportunity for a large number of people in the province to directly enjoy dramatic and attractive competitions; This is also an opportunity for the province to introduce and promote the image, potential, and strengths of tourism, culture, and people of Quang Binh; contributing to expanding cooperation and exchange between Quang Binh with domestic and international friends.
