(PLVN) – Vietnam futsal coach Giustozzi Diego Raul believes that his team still has a chance to compete for tickets to the World Cup.

Speaking after the 2-1 loss to Uzbekistan, coach Giustozzi Diego Raul expressed regret that the Vietnamese futsal team did not achieve the desired results. He also emphasized that the tournament has not ended and the Vietnamese futsal team still has a chance to compete for tickets to the World Cup.

Coach Giustozzi Diego Raul said: “I am satisfied with the performance of my students. The whole team defended well in 4-on-4 situations. The Vietnamese team controlled the game well, creating more advantages in the first half. If the players did better in the opportunities created, it would be possible. can make a difference in the score. In the second half, Uzbekistan used a 5-man style of play to attack, but we still controlled the situation.”

“I want the team to understand that we did well against Uzbekistan. It is important to know that this is a team that regularly participates in the Futsal World Cup, and is often present in matches competing for continental rankings. We tried our best and completed the task well today. If the team continues to play like this, it will defeat Kyrgyzstan in the next play-off match,” the Argentine strategist emphasized.

Unable to win direct tickets to the 2024 Futsal World Cup after losing to Uzbekistan, but the opportunity for Vietnamese futsal to appear on this playground for the third time in a row is still there. “We lost to Uzbekistan but the tournament is not over yet. The Vietnam futsal team has 2 more matches left so the opportunity to compete for tickets to the 2024 Futsal World Cup is still there. The important thing now is to recover both physically and mentally. Opponents Kyrgyzstan kick off at 4:00 p.m. while we play at 9:00 p.m., so they have more time to rest than us,” coach Diego Giustozzi said.
