On April 25, the Red Cross Society of Son La province coordinated with the Vietnam Food Bank to organize the launching ceremony of Son La Food Bank and give gifts on the occasion of Humanitarian Month 2024.
Son La Food Bank (Food Bank Son La) is located at Song Hao Street, Co Village, Chieng An Ward, City. This is the 11th member of the Vietnam Food Bank network.
At the Program, the Decision to establish Son La Community Food Club (Food bank Club Son La) was announced. The club consists of 6 members, operating in a voluntary spirit, with the task of receiving food sources from the Vietnam Food Bank and managing and maintaining the amount of goods to support food diversity towards those who need food. vulnerable people, orphans, people with disabilities, lonely elderly people, victims of Agent Orange, and ethnic minorities in difficult circumstances; subjects affected by natural disasters and catastrophes; charity kitchens inside and outside the province. At the same time, propagate and campaign to raise awareness and spread anti-food waste habits in the community.
The Provincial Red Cross and Vietnam Food Bank signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in implementing the program “Supporting and receiving food, giving and donating food to people in difficult circumstances”. Donating 300 gifts to households in difficult circumstances and policy beneficiaries in the City, total value of 150 million VND.
