According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, after 70 years, the lessons from negotiating, signing and implementing the Geneva Agreement are still valuable for the work of building and developing the country and protecting the Fatherland today. .

Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that, facing the complexities of today’s world, the creative application of historical lessons has helped Vietnam properly handle foreign relations on the basis of steadfast principles. , flexible in strategy and behavior, upholding the spirit of peace, friendship, and perseverance in dialogue and cooperation.

Sharing their feelings at the ceremony, the ambassadors of Laos and Cambodia also expressed their honor to participate in the 70th Anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement.

According to Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh, the 1954 Geneva Agreement clearly demonstrated that the war path in terms of military and political diplomacy was wise, flexible, the spirit of sacrifice, internal solidarity and of the leaders of the Vietnam Labor Party (now the Communist Party of Vietnam) as well as the leaders of the Communist Parties of three countries.
