At the working session, the report on the implementation of tasks of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector in 2023 and the statistical work of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector showed that, with the direction and implementation of many synchronous solutions of the Government, Central Ministries, and Provinces, Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee in implementing socio-economic development tasks, in 2023 Lam Dong has achieved important results. Particularly dAs for the agricultural sector, the industry’s growth rate reached 5.47%, ranking 7th in the entire industry and contributing 1.97 percentage points to the province’s GRDP growth; continues to play a leading role in Lam Dong’s economy, the proportion of agriculture accounting for 39.87% of the province’s economic structure. The growth rate of agricultural, forestry and fishery labor productivity reached 12.1%. The structure of crops and livestock has been restructured to suit the socio-economic development conditions of each district and city in the Province.


In the field of cultivation, the cultivated area is maintained at over 328.5 thousand hectares with the planted area reaching over 404 thousand hectares (reaching 101.9% of the plan, an increase of 1.91% compared to 2022). , of which annual crops are approximately 126.6 thousand hectares (up 0.73% compared to 2022); perennial crops 277.4 thousand hectares (an increase of 2.47% compared to 2022). Total food production remained stable with 141 tons of rice and 41.88 thousand tons.


The area of ​​high-tech agriculture according to new criteria reached 66,873 hectares, an increase of 1,565 hectares (equivalent to an increase of 2.3%), accounting for 20.4% of the cultivated area.


Regarding innovation in production methods: By the end of 2023, the whole province has 425 cooperatives with a good rate of agricultural cooperatives of over 45%; 419 agricultural cooperative groups and 624 farms; 234 linked chains with output of over 589.2 thousand tons of crop products and 163.8 thousand tons of livestock products; 239 OCOP products (including 10 5-star products, 78 4-star products, 151 3-star products).


Regarding irrigation infrastructure: In Lam Dong province, there are currently 440 irrigation projects that actively supply water to irrigate about 50,087 hectares of cultivated land; In addition, the advanced water-saving irrigation system was invested in and expanded, ensuring water sources to serve 50,500 hectares of arable land; contributing to increasing the ratio of irrigated area to 68% of the area needing irrigation.


Regarding the construction of New Rural Areas (NTM): In 2023, the whole province will have 109/111 communes meeting NTM standards (accounting for 98.2%); 41 advanced rural areas communes (accounting for 36.9%); 16 model NTM communes (accounting for 14.4%), 05 district-level units meet NTM standards; Da Lat city and Bao Loc completed the task of building new rural areas.

Regarding coordination with the Department of Statistics in recent times, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Statistics of Lam Dong province have done a good job of coordinating, exchanging and providing periodic and irregular data, ensuring service progress. Regarding information sources, availability, completeness, and updating of information sharing data, up to now, data on the situation of agricultural, forestry and fishery production (excluding service activities in agriculture, forestry and fisheries and the workforce operating in the agricultural sector); results of implementing the NTM Program; irrigation; cooperatives, cooperative groups, farms; craft villages; agricultural production area applying high technology; The One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program has updated data until the end of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, data divided by each locality.
