STO – On the morning of April 25, at Hung Loc Phat Convention Center, Soc Trang Cooperative Alliance held a ceremony to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of Soc Trang Cooperative Alliance (February 1994 – February 2024) and celebrate the 78th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Cooperatives (April 11, 1946 – April 11, 2024). Attending the ceremony were comrade Huynh Lam Phuong – Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, Head of the Southern Standing Agency; Comrade Pham Chi Nguyen – Chairman of Soc Trang Cooperative Alliance; leaders of provincial agencies and departments.
In the jubilant atmosphere of the ceremony, comrade Pham Chi Nguyen shared about the process of establishing the Soc Trang Cooperative Alliance and the achievements the unit has achieved over the past 3 decades.

Soc Trang Cooperative Alliance was established on February 7, 1994. Over the past 30 years, with the attention and support of the province, departments, branches and localities, the Soc Trang Cooperative Alliance has promoted the spirit of democracy, solidarity, responsibility, effective operation, and contributed Part of helping Soc Trang’s collective and cooperative economic movement develop strongly and sustainably. To date, the whole province has 229 cooperatives (206 agricultural cooperatives, 5 industrial and handicraft cooperatives, 2 trade and service cooperatives, 1 construction cooperative, 3 cooperatives). traffic and transportation commune), 1 Cooperative Union, 12 People’s Credit Funds. Soc Trang is one of the localities with the highest number of cooperatives in the Mekong Delta with a total of over 30,000 members. The cooperative’s average revenue reaches about 4.7 billion VND/year, profit reaches 338 million VND/year, and the average income of regular workers in the cooperative reaches over 50 million VND/year.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Huynh Lam Phuong – Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, Head of the Southern Standing Agency congratulated the achievements that the Soc Trang Cooperative Alliance has achieved in recent years. . The bright spot of Soc Trang’s collective and cooperative economy is the attention of local leaders and the companionship of units and businesses. In the coming time, the Soc Trang Cooperative Alliance needs to continue to promote its leading role, do a good job propagating the development of collective economy, cooperatives, the Law on Cooperatives, and support cooperatives. Cooperatives consolidate and build an effective operating apparatus, connecting product consumption… gradually bringing the collective economy and provincial cooperatives to sustainable and upward development.
