Many concerns from the densely populated city

Bien Hoa is a class I urban area with over 1.2 million people. “Carrying” on many responsibilities as the city’s economic, political, cultural and social center of the province, Bien Hoa’s urban infrastructure is not adequate. Therefore, the issue of building urban civilization always attracts the attention of people, especially those who love this land with a development history of over 325 years.

Editor-in-Chief of Dong Nai Newspaper Dao Van Tuan expressed his concern that with a long history of development, Bien Hoa city is expected to have a modern, civilized, bright – green – clean – beautiful urban appearance. Despite many efforts, Bien Hoa urban area is still not developing adequately; Urban infrastructure and city aesthetics have been placing a lot of pressure on local authorities.

Among many difficulties, the good news is that in recent times, there have been bright spots in building a civilized and modern urban area in Bien Hoa. The city has added projects that can create cultural and sports highlights, becoming an attractive destination for people. Bien Hoa has also resolutely dealt with illegal construction; violation of encroachment on roadways and sidewalks; littering in improper places…

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee NGUYEN SON HUNG said that the opinions expressed at the discussion have provided many specific solutions for Bien Hoa. It is recommended that Bien Hoa city leaders carefully study the content of the presentations in the yearbook as well as the opinions presented at the seminar so that they can be applied to solve the problems facing the city.

With all the affection and responsibility to wish Bien Hoa to develop more and more, Dong Nai Newspaper will continue to promote information and propaganda work. Thereby, deepening the experiences and lessons; remaining problems and limitations; offering new, highly feasible solutions, contributing to the development of Bien Hoa.

Vice Chairman of Quyet Thang Ward People’s Committee Dang Cong Binh said that Quyet Thang is a central ward with many important routes associated with agencies and units of the province, and crowded business activities. Therefore, the ward is drastically solving problems and limitations to keep roads clear and sidewalks clear. To do this, first of all, it is necessary to promote the roles and responsibilities of the Party Committee and Ward People’s Committee; Each officer and party member must set an example for the people to follow.

Not located in the city center, urban development in Trang Dai ward has its own difficulties. 30 years ago, Trang Dai had only 9 thousand people, but now it has increased to over 120 thousand people (accounting for 10% of the city’s population). Inadequacies in planning, infrastructure investment and urban management are challenges in creating a life with a high level of satisfaction for people.

Chairman of Trang Dai Ward People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Dan hopes: “Trang Dai Ward urgently needs a synchronous planning and investment plan for traffic, water supply and drainage systems and clean water to make the ward’s appearance more spacious.”

Expect breakthroughs

Head of Bien Hoa Urban Management Department Nguyen Thanh Phu frankly acknowledged that the resolution of urban infrastructure inadequacies in recent times has been recognized and evaluated. These include inadequacies in planning and management, investment in urban transport infrastructure; Traffic jams and local flooding in some locations; lack of cultural institutions to serve the people. Bien Hoa’s shortcomings will not be resolved overnight, but we can believe and expect new breakthroughs when the province is paying more attention to investing in Bien Hoa.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phu said that along with the early completion of the general planning of Bien Hoa city, many projects are being drastically implemented such as: Dong Nai River Road Project, Cai River Road, City Center Trunk Road Project. , Thong Nhat Bridge, Huong Lo 2. In particular, the city is expecting big projects such as: Converting the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, Construction of Hiep Hoa Urban Area, Bien Hoa will also have a project in the near future. Bien Hoa Airport project…

At the seminar, many experts and scientists from universities and environmental communication research centers said that Bien Hoa is a first-class urban area but has not developed adequately, many criteria are still low and lack of emphasis. Experts and scientists believe that it is necessary to refer to the development experiences of many urban areas in Vietnam and beyond, some countries in the region.

Dr. Tran Dinh Ly, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, said that Bien Hoa needs to position itself a “slogan” on development orientation and must definitely be a “Green City”. We must continue to increase the current rate of green trees, which is still too low, to a number many times larger. Urban development must be associated with the development of green trees and green parks, because Bien Hoa’s park system Currently there is a shortage, small and concentrated in central wards.

In addition, experts also commented on the strategy to build Bien Hoa into a city with low carbon emissions according to world development trends. The solution is to transform the industrial development model to service trade that creates high added value; Increase the use of green energy, and at the same time, it must be associated with preserving cultural heritage in the direction of sustainable development.

Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Van Toi, former member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and architect Ly Thanh Phuong, Chairman of the Provincial Association of Architects, both agreed that people are the important factor for Bien urban development. Civilized – green – clean – beautiful. Therefore, we must persistently raise people’s awareness, thereby adjusting their behavior towards urban areas.
