Building schools that meet national standards, in recent years, the Department of Education and Training of Thuan Chau district has directed school units in the district to strictly carry out self-assessment according to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training; create conditions for schools to standardize their facilities and staff and teachers, improving the quality of education.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Ton, Head of Education and Training Department of Thuan Chau district, information: Implementing Plan No. 248/KH-UBND dated November 20, 2020 of the District People’s Committee on building schools meeting national standards in the district During the 2021 – 2025 period, the department advised the district to allocate funds to invest in facilities for schools with degraded classrooms, temporary classrooms, schools in difficult areas, and schools on the roadmap to strive to achieve national standard.
Schools have developed detailed plans to implement criteria that have not been met, in order to take measures to overcome difficulties and problems. At the same time, mobilize resources from organizations, individuals, and businesses to invest in building facilities and purchasing equipment to serve the work of building schools that meet national standards.
With capital sources to solidify schools and classrooms and build new rural areas, from 2020 up to now, the district has invested and built 278 new classrooms, 8 multi-purpose houses, 5 administrative buildings, 35 boarding rooms and 15 boarding kitchens for students. Mobilizing socialization of 6.5 billion VND to invest and repair school construction items to meet national standards. To date, the district has 1,561 classrooms, of which, 1,070 are solid classrooms and 491 are semi-permanent classrooms.
In addition, every year, the department reviews and develops training plans to improve professional qualifications for educational managers and teachers; Advise on planning and appointment of officials with management capacity as principals of schools. Direct schools to evaluate teachers according to the professional standards of each major and level; There is a plan to train teachers who teach part-time subjects, in order to overcome the imbalance of teachers teaching specific subjects. Currently, 100% of officials, managers, and teachers at all educational levels meet standard professional qualifications, of which more than 80% are above standard.
In July 2022, Son Ca Kindergarten, Thuan Chau town, moved from sub-area 6 to sub-area 5. Here, the school was invested in 2 2-storey blocks, with 12 classrooms, 6 function rooms, 1 kitchen and playground area, rural market display area. In December 2022, the school was recognized as meeting national standards level II. Sharing with us, teacher Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice Principal of Son Ca Kindergarten, said: In the 2023 – 2024 school year, the school has 388 children in 12 class groups, 27 officers, teachers, and staff. All classes implement a “student-centered” approach, promoting children’s positivity. Encourage officials and teachers to proactively apply information technology in lesson planning, make their own teaching aids and toys for children, and decorate classrooms according to themes; Frequently change the position and arrangement of corners according to each theme to create something new and attract children to explore.
Recognized as meeting national level I standards in May 2023, Chieng La Primary and Secondary School currently has 28 solid classrooms, 7 semi-permanent classrooms, 2 information technology rooms with 30 computers; Subject rooms, library rooms and functional rooms are all connected to the internet, ensuring administrators, teachers and students can use information technology for self-study and research. Teacher Dinh Duy Hoan, Principal of the school, said: Every year, at the elementary level, the rate of student mobilization and retention reaches 100%; good capacity rating of nearly 52%; 100% of students have a good sense of moral practice. In the secondary school sector, good and excellent academic performance accounts for 34%, and the secondary school graduation rate reaches 100%; 3 excellent teachers at the provincial level, 12 excellent teachers at the district level.
By February 2024, the entire district will have 39/78 schools meeting national standards, reaching nearly 51%, exceeding 1.8% of the target set by the Resolution of the XXI District Party Congress, term 2020-2025. . Among them, there are 10 schools that meet national level 2 standards, including: Sao Mai Tong Co Kindergarten; Vo Thi Sau Chieng Pha kindergarten; Kindergarten 1/6 Nam Lau; Hoa Mi Chieng Pac kindergarten; Hoa Sua Muoi Noi kindergarten; Son Ca Town preschool; Chieng Pha primary school; Town elementary school; Tong Co primary school; Chu Van An Secondary School.
In 2024, Thuan Chau district strives to recognize 2 new schools that meet standards, including: Bo Muoi B Secondary School, Muoi Noi Secondary School and re-evaluate and re-recognize 14 schools that meet national standards. Determined to complete the set targets, the district strengthens direction to improve the quality of education and training; Build a team of teachers and educational administrators who are professionally skilled and dedicated to the profession. At the same time, promote socialization and investment in facilities, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education.
