Consumption of waste ash and slag of Hai Duong BOT Thermal Power Plant

Regarding this content, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Luu Van Ban requested Jack Hai Duong Electric Company Limited to comply with 4 principles on plans for consuming waste ash and slag. That is, businesses must ensure environmental hygiene; does not affect traffic infrastructure; Vehicles involved in transportation must be licensed and circulated, and can only transport waste ash and slag to locations that have been permitted to operate by a competent authority; Implement information regime and reports must be updated daily.

Comrade Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Luu Van Ban assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to preside and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to review the implementation of the above principles of enterprises. When the investor fully meets the principles, advise the Provincial People’s Committee to allow the consumption of waste ash and slag.

By the end of March 2024, the total amount of ash and slag generated from the operation of the BOT Thermal Power Plant was more than 6.4 million tons, nearly 6 million tons of which were consumed, the remainder still in the slag dump. The ash and slag dump has an area of ​​more than 71.5 hectares with a capacity of 6.55 million tons. Jack Hai Duong Electric Co., Ltd. proposes two options for consuming ash and slag, including sending ash and slag to the landfill and then consuming and consuming directly. The consumption of waste ash and slag will meet the need for filling materials and cement raw materials.
