Industrializing and modernizing local agriculture and rural areas, the People’s Committee of Nghe An province approved the investment project to build the Faculty of Agriculture – Forestry – Fisheries of Nghe An University of Economics in My Hau hamlet, Hung Dong commune, City. Vinh.

Accordingly, the project was assigned by Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee to Nghe An University of Economics as the investor with a total investment of 60 billion VND. The budget is extracted from the central capital of the Education and Training sector of 35 billion VND, and 25 billion VND from Nghe An University of Economics.

According to project approval decisions, construction must be completed before December 31, 2022. The total usable area of ​​the school’s campus is 80,482 square meters². In which: Construction of a 5-storey school building on a construction area of ​​563m2²; Build a 5-storey experimental house with a construction area of ​​404m2²; Construction of technical infrastructure items such as digging ponds, internal roads, internal yards, power supply systems, water supply systems, trees… There are also auxiliary items such as main gates, fences, duty house, garage, 2 elevators, lan network, air conditioning system, telephone network, fire protection, office equipment, teaching equipment.

Notably, in the decision to adjust the project in 2021, Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee noted: The investor organizes the implementation of construction investment in accordance with the provisions of law, ensuring investment goals, quality, schedule are extended, costs are saved and project efficiency is achieved.

However, according to research, the project will be completed and put into use before December 31, 2022, but its usability has not achieved the initially set goals. The reporter’s observations show that the condition of some items of the project has deteriorated, the lecture hall is not fully used, and weeds are overgrown, covering the walkways. The outside walls of some buildings are peeling and covered in moss. Inside the rooms, tables, chairs, teaching equipment, ceiling fans… are covered with dust. Although the completed school is quite beautiful and spacious, there are no roads. In front of the main gate are rice fields, behind the side gate is a seriously degraded road, so travel for teachers and students is very difficult. inconvenient.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu – Principal of Nghe An University of Economics confirmed that it is correct to not use all the functions of the project. The project has been handed over but is currently undergoing final settlement procedures.

According to Mr. Hieu, the construction project started in 2016, but after completing the construction of the facilities, the number of students decreased significantly because students were no longer interested in this major. “Currently, the school has re-enrolled students, but the number of students choosing the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to study is too small, so they only use 1 building for practice. Besides, the headquarters is also used for students of the Department of National Defense Education to study. In the near future, the school will propose adjustments to practice many other professions,” Mr. Hieu added.

Looking at the 60 billion VND project lying in the sun and dew, not using all its functions and goals from the beginning, many people feel it is a waste. It is thought that the authorities of Nghe An province need to soon consider and calculate to have a plan to put the project into effective use, promote the project’s functions, and avoid waste and loss of public assets. government.
