Ea Sup District People’s Committee said that the 2023 – 2024 winter-spring rice crop in the district ended successfully, with high area, productivity and output.
Specifically, the district’s wet rice cultivation area reached 7,835 hectares (110% of the plan). In this season, the most planted rice varieties are Dai Thom 8, OM5451, OM18, ST24, ST25, TBR 97, of which, Dai Thom 8 rice variety alone accounts for 60% of the variety structure.

Irrigation water sources are guaranteed thanks to the efficient operation of irrigation works in Ea Sup Thuong, Ea Sup Ha, Ia Jloi and Ia Mor lakes (Gia Lai province). During the growth process, rice is infected with thrips, stem borers, leaf blight, and brown planthoppers, but the severity is less.
According to local assessments, the winter-spring rice crop of 2023 – 2024 has an average yield of 7.5 tons/ha, in some places it reaches 12 tons/ha, output of 61,103 tons (119% of the plan); The price of commercial rice is high, ranging from 6,500 – 10,000 VND/kg.
