Thanks to careful application of fertilization and protection techniques, vegetables can be sold all year round. If the harvest is good, each acre can earn 10 million VND per month.

“In 2019, after borrowing 30 million VND from the Social Policy Bank, I invested in raising livestock and made a tarpaulin cover to plant fish mint. From there, it helps my family have a stable source of income. To date, I have repaid 15 million VND of the loan, the remaining amount will be paid on time in September 2024,” Mr. Ba shared.

Not only Mr. Ba, through the savings and loan groups of the Social Policy Bank, Tinh Chau commune has about 100 farmer households borrowing capital for cultivation and animal husbandry. Thanks to flexible crop rotation and crop rotation of corn and vegetables on every foot of land, farmers in Tinh Chau commune have a stable income and improve their lives.

Chairman of the Tinh Chau Commune Farmers’ Association, Huynh Van Hieu, said that in recent years, the model of growing fish mint using reinforced concrete pillars and covering vegetables with tarpaulins to shade the vegetables has given high yields and has been widely applied by farmers. cobble. However, this model requires large capital, with an average cost of 10 million VND/acre. Thanks to loans from the Social Policy Bank, many farmers have boldly invested in growing vegetables. The entire commune currently has more than 40 hectares of fish mint, bringing significant income to local farmers.

In Tinh An commune, many households also took advantage of loans from the Social Policy Bank to invest in fattening cows, growing corn and vegetables to bring high income. Mr. Dao Huu Nghia (60 years old), in Ngoc Thach village, Tinh An commune, said that in 2013, my family borrowed 14 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to grow vegetables, build a barn to fatten cows, and Now I have paid the bank debt. With the remaining money, I expanded the scale of the barn, rented more production land to rotate crops, and grow vegetables.

At one point, his barn had up to 10 cows raised for meat and 10 acres of vegetables grown… Thanks to that, his family earned an income of nearly 200 million VND/year. Using loan capital effectively, from 2014 until now, Mr. Nghia has been chosen to be the Head of the Savings and Loan Group of Ngoc Thach village.

Vice Chairman of Tinh An Commune People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Anh said that in recent years, local associations and unions have helped people promptly access loans from the following programs: Clean water and rural environmental sanitation, loans to create jobs for poor and near-poor households from the Social Policy Bank. After receiving capital, the local government oriented farmers on how to grow crops and raise livestock effectively, helping people escape poverty. By March 2024, Tinh An commune only has 21 poor households (0.89%); 54 near-poor households (2.29%).

According to the leaders of the Social Policy Bank – Quang Ngai Branch, in order for policy capital to reach poor households and policy beneficiaries effectively, every year, the bank coordinates with the People’s Committees of communes and wards in Quang City. Ngai and socio-political organizations promote propaganda and implementation of new guidelines and policies of the Government and the province. Publicly and fully listing preferential credit policies on lending to poor households, near-poor households and policy beneficiaries in 23 communes and wards.
